Get to know about New Laigh Kirk

Our church building is a well known landmark at the centre of Kilmarnock. You are welcome to come inside and find out what happens when people of all ages meet for worship. It’s not a closed shop or a Holy Club, but a caring community, reaching out to all.

The church is more than the building – it’s the people. We are out and about in Kilmarnock – visiting care homes, hospitals and schools, volunteering in the community and hosting groups from toddlers to senior citizens and homeless folk in our John Finnie Street halls.

Sunday Gatherings

Sundays are the highlight of our week. We draw inspiration and strength from worshipping together. Different age groups prefer different styles of worship and we don’t assume that “one style fits all”. We enjoy a rich heritage of Christian music alongside lively, modern praise bands.

We don’t dodge the tough questions about life in to-day’s world. We look to the message of the Christian Gospel to find out how to respond.

Time & Location

Our Sunday morning services are at 11 a.m. year round. There are also lively gatherings in our John Finnie Street halls for children and teenagers.

In the summer we have an informal service at 9.30 a.m. for folk of all ages and a more traditional service at 11 a.m.

The church is open from 12 to 2 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Visitors are welcome to come in to enjoy a quiet time of prayer or a chat to our volunteers. Look around the church and find out about its history.

What to expect

You will find a friendly welcome. Your first impression on a Sunday is likely to be a buzz of chat as people meet and enjoy one another’s company. Soon our focus turns to worship of God through music, prayer and listening to the message from the Bible. Then we step out to be the church in the community for the rest of the week.
